Shanghai Stock Exchange launch new trading system
The Shanghai Stock Exchange will launch its next-generation trading system, which, among other things, will allow easy access by participants from overseas, on November 23 2009, according to exchange officials.

The new system, called Xetra, is based on technology from the Deutsche Bourse. It has been in development by Accenture since 2004.
The system will be rolled out in a graduated process, with the current system serving as a back-up until December 4, in case of problems, the exchange said.
Adapting the Deutche Bourse platform to work in China took much work, said Zhongsu Chen, former chief technology officer at the exchange.
“The most important work for the adaption was the customization of the architecture,” Chen told Securities Industry News. Chen is managing director of venture capital firm Time Innovation Ventures and a member of the government working group on the formation of the China Financial Futures Exchange.
