拆除零件:
火咀線, Ignition Coil, 電腦總箱蓋.
建議一次過更換其餘零件:
火咀

準備工具:
5MM 六角匙, 10號撲頭. 電路接點清潔劑.

step1, 移除行李箱內電源 (only for pre Sept 01 productions)

step2 移除火咀線

if your 火咀線 get stucked… use a tools gently to help and extract the stucked spare plug wire

step3 移除 ignition coil上的螺絲

step4 拆除行車電腦箱上的4顆螺絲

step5 打開電腦箱

step6 細心留意,紅圈的就是需要移除的電線插及relay

step7 拆除紅圈的東西

step8 準備好新的ignition oil


step9 拆除ignition oil 的地線(earth wire)

step10 用接點清潔噴劑 清洗地線(earth wire)接地

step11, 火咀線的跟火咀的接點也要clean

step 12, reverse the removal procedure.
a) install the ignition coil as on above step3, tighten with 磅尺 @ 15nm
b) install the ignition coil earth wire on above as step9 tighten with 磅尺 @ 10nm
c) reinstall the spark plug wires on above as step2
d) reinstall the ignition wire to ECU.

step13 plug the ignition wire to the ECU, carefully check the direction of the plug.


step14 close the ECU box and install the 4 screw as step4 on above, tighen 5mm screws @ 5nm

step15. carefully check if there is any screw missing, any tools were left inside the engine bay.
repeat and check all the procedures on above.

step 16. spend 3mins, repeat step 15, if you aren’t sure everything were fine.
make sure all spark plugs(4pcs) were plugged in, ignition coil screws(2pcs) were tighten (15nm), ignition coil earth contact screws(1pcs) (10nm) were tighten. ECU box screws(4pcs) were tighten (5nm)
step 17.
reinstall the power soucre from the boot

step18, insert your ignition key and turn to on, (not start the engine, not to accessories ON)
AND WAIT 3mins. Let the ECU 行車電腦 diagnostic itself for any ECU and ignition errors for 3mins.

step19. observe the dashboard lights, any errors? any fault lights up? does the dam ECU lights come on? now, turn the key to “accessories ON” but DON’T START THE ENGINE. 等待行車電腦(ecu) 檢查 ignition 系統是否工作正常. Wait for 3mins.
Step20, if the ECU doesn’t throw a error code or warning lights. Now, start your engine.
do the following :
1. observe any warning/error lights on the dashboard.
2. listen carefully on the rhythm of the engine sound. does it sound normally?
is there any sluggish sound? any rough idling speed?
3. does the idling rpm as usual?
- idling with cold engine with AC is ON is 1150rpm
- idling with cold engine and AC is off. is 950rpm
- idling with Hot engine and AC is off is 850rpm
- idling with Hot engine and AC is ON is 950rpm
4. Put your gear stick to “D” (if you are on a auto-transmission)
now observe carefully on the gear display on dashboard. If there is any installation error, incorrect ignition coil parts, and ERROR (show as a icon) will show on the dashboard). If everything goes fine, have your car test near your gargage for a few minutes.
step 21. woola… 禮成. According to BMW specific ECU routine test, a ignition cycle doesn’t throw a stupid ECU error in 50 times of ignition. Your new ignition coil DIY is copmlete.
筆者於1月09年, 152,000km 更換新的ignition coil, 明顯感覺到馬力回覆了接近1成. 不論低轉,中速.
均明顯感受到比新coil 能找回己流失的扭力和馬力. 特別於90km – 140km 這段速度最為明顯.
在4月09年, 現時經過3000km / 3個月測試後 ,均沒有任何故障燈號出現. 耗油量亦下降了不少…
P.S. 這個”新”的ignition coil 是從一部99年6月 的 E46 318i, 行車裡數隻有44,000km, 拆出來的. 價錢是 $600.
只要part number是正確,基本上是沒有難度的parts swap diy.
明顯感到回覆舊有的馬力後,筆者特意前往北大嶼山highway進行測試.
只可惜當晚側風實在太強烈(吹NW),對於這架完全沒有改裝的老爺車
在甚麼”包圍”也沒有(spoiler kit),於往東涌方向只能做出170km/h max speed.
後來轉移試車地點,選擇側風偏弱,更少其他車輛的另一條路線,
收費站< ->disney公園, 借助大自然強勁的NW風向
(是西北tail wind呀… 哈哈..即是由車尾吹向車頭, 車頭方向由收費站往disney park)
進行兩次熱身後, 在來回4次之下,終於分別做出183km/h 195km/h max speed.
(最哀果晚唔記得帶個GPS… ,否則可以留下一點自己的記錄)
有spoiler kit 有佢的好處… 也有佢的壞處.
對小弟來說,還是原裝原汁原味的好.
